ACTORS!

I have actors! I've started grouping them and deciding wheather I want them to be in bands, or solo artists. I also want to use a mix of male and females so that the magazine varies.

Tuesday 11th November

Today, we've been thinking about names we can call our magazine. I have decided on the name 'ISM'- Indie Sound Music. I orginally took it from just a simple idea that I was working with when practising photoshop, and that is my entials (SM). However, I realised that I wanted to work with Indie music and I decided to stick to my main idea of using 'SM' but included 'I' standing for 'Indie'. I think it will look effective because is an abreiviated name that will stand out. Today, and for homework and possibly next lesson, I will be sketching up differnt fonts for the name of my magazine.

Monday 10th November

I've carried out the same rules as I did on the front cover layout. I've tried to create a house st lye by making the title be carried through onto the contents page. I have stuck to a grid system of three columns, because I think it is fairly simple, and easy to carry out.

Okay, finished the contents pages and stuck to the grid rule. As you can see:

Friday 7th November

Yesterday, I was ill. So unfortunately I missed a lesson, and that was on grid systems. However, Mr Bonney has shown me what a grid system is and I am going to start to do a few sketches of contents pages (sticking to the grid system rule) today, but will finish it for homework over the weekend.

Wednesday 5th November

I've finished my front cover layouts to back up my planning section. This is what I done in the lesson and for homework.
Basically, I have tried to stick to a main idea that I liked. You can see a similar style through out the sketches I done, but I have changed a few things about it.

Tuesday 4th November

I've got my essay back marked. I need to work on a few things on that and I need to start sketching up ideas of front cover layouts. So today, I've started on that, this will take a few days.

Monday 3rd November

Back to school! Over half term, I have been thinking about differnt locations. As I mentioned before, I want to shoot a few photos at my friends house. One of which he has an old abandoned boat. I think it will be really interesting to take a few shots of a solo artist on this beacuse it relates to what I like- isolated and different approaches in a magazine. He also has an old swing which i think will work well for a few shoots of a solo artist having fun, possibly for an interview page? I need to start planning what each artist will do, and weather I want a band ect. But at the moment, I think I will include a few solo artists and maybe two bands? Im still thinking.
So, today I have looked in a few magazines to give me a few inspirations.

Friday 30th October

Now that's the end of practising with different camera angles, I have now got a sense of which angles will be easy to work with, and those that will not be eg: Portrait/full body image.

Its half term next week, but over half term I will be working on layouts and grid systems. I have done my first draft of my essay and waiting for it to be marked, this will be another piece of work to work on after half term. That should keep me busy for a few weeks, as I will also be looking into props, actors and things that I need to start considering.
